Chicken

Chicken is a great source of proteins for the body. It is important to note that a very big number of people in Rwanda have chicken on their menu at least once a week.

Chicken can be consumed in different ways, roasted, boiled, or fried, whichever method you use to prepare it am sure it will still be delicious.

There are various health benefits when you eat chicken;

  • Chicken helps in strengthening the muscles because it is lean meat, and therefore it contains more amount of proteins than fat.
  • Chicken helps in brain function because it is rich in vitamins and minerals like calcium and phosphorus that help keep bones in condition.
  • Chicken helps in protecting your heart from diseases, it is rich in vitamin B6 and that plays a very important role.
  • Taking chicken soup helps in relieving flu, cold and other respiratory infections.
  • Chicken can be a good way of losing weight because it is rich in proteins.
